Of all the universities in the world, which are the best? Let’s research it and choose the university to study.

This analysis contains data from three datasets:

The Center for World University Rankings is a less well know listing that comes from Saudi Arabia, it was founded in 2012.

The Times Higher Education World University Ranking is widely regarded as one of the most influential and widely observed university measures. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2010, it has been criticized for its commercialization and for undermining non-English-instructing institutions.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities, also known as the Shanghai Ranking, is an equally influential ranking. It was founded in China in 2003 and has been criticized for focusing on raw research power and for undermining humanities and quality of instruction.

  1. Best Universities
    Let’s see the top 5 Universities for the years 2012–2015, according to CWUR.

Harvard is in first place in all the years, followed by MIT in 2012 and Stanford in 2013–2015; The third place is changing between Stanford (2012), Caltech (2013), with MIT holding it for 2014 and 2015.

2. Top countries for study by Average Score

Interesting evidence:

The Universities of the UK, USA, Japan, Israel, Switzerland were on the top of the list by CWUR data in 2012 and 2013 years, but the picture was changed in the next two years. Average Scores of Universities from the UK and USA were decreased, which helps to the universities of Israel was in the top by the average score in 2014. Moreover, the next year(2014) Universities of Singapore were the best universities in the.

In conclusion for this part, the world is changing, respectively the quality of education in the world by country. Before study in Europe and North America was considered as elite, the last years this trend was changed in favor of Asian countries.

3. Publications, citations, and research:

How it is seen in the graph above, in 2012 and 2013 years publish publications and do citations were not popular in all universities. But in the next two years, the sum of publications and citations rapidly was increased according to CWUR(Maybe data was lost in the first two years).

Because of it, I tried to research data from another source. According to Times Higher Education (THE) University Rankings data, the sum of citations was 23 029, just as, the sum of citations according to CWUR was 5502 in 2012.

It is a huge difference between the two data sets.

According to CWUR, the count of publications was climbed to 1000 publications grouping by universities;

These two universities were published the maximum number of publications (1000 publications) in 2014 (see above pic.):
